Terms & Conditions of Use

Effective Date: September 17, 2026
Last Updated: September 17, 2026

These Terms & Conditions of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of The Digital Self-Reliance, including the public website at thedigitalselfreliance.com, related commercial and private environments at www.thedigitalselfreliance.com, and products, services, training, memberships, bookings, resources, and other offerings provided through The Digital Self-Reliance.

The Digital Self-Reliance is commercially operated through:

Travel You Life LLC
30 N Gould St Ste R
Sheridan, WY 82801
United States

By accessing or using DSR properties or purchasing a DSR offering, you agree to these Terms and any additional terms presented in connection with the specific product, service, booking, membership, or transaction.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the applicable DSR service.

About The Digital Self-Reliance

The Digital Self-Reliance (“DSR”) is an operator-development and business-formation system focused on helping people identify commercially useful roles, develop relevant capabilities, build owned business systems, enter markets, and learn from real commercial evidence.

DSR is not a guarantee of income, customers, business success, market acceptance, or protection from technological change.

For the public definition of the system, see What Is Digital Self-Reliance?.

Eligibility

DSR commercial services are intended for adults.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority required to enter a binding agreement where you live, to purchase DSR products or services or create a paid account.

By making a purchase or creating an account, you represent that you have legal capacity to enter the applicable agreement.

If you are acting on behalf of a business or organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity where applicable.

Public Website Use

You may use publicly available DSR pages for lawful personal or business informational purposes.

Your access does not give you ownership of DSR content, frameworks, training material, brand assets, intellectual property, or private systems.

You may link to publicly available pages in a normal and lawful manner.

You may not represent yourself as DSR, Travel You Life LLC, James Y.H. Shen, an authorized DSR representative, or an official partner unless you have written authorization to do so.

Educational Nature of DSR Content

DSR provides educational, informational, training, decision-support, and business-development material.

Information published through DSR does not constitute a guarantee that a particular strategy, market, business model, commercial role, price, product, service, or operating method will be appropriate or successful for you.

Business decisions remain your responsibility.

You should obtain qualified professional advice when your circumstances involve regulated legal, tax, accounting, financial, medical, immigration, engineering, or other professional matters.

Please review the Disclosures and Disclaimer for additional limitations.

Products, Services, and Programs

DSR may offer products and services including, without limitation, individual sessions, training programs, private communities, Build Lab environments, digital resources, implementation materials, memberships, workshops, or other commercial offerings.

The exact scope of an offering is determined by the description presented on the relevant sales, booking, enrollment, or checkout page at the time of purchase.

Features, content, delivery methods, access periods, schedules, capacity, and prices may change between different offerings or versions.

Purchasing one DSR product does not automatically entitle you to every present or future DSR product or service.

Business Direction Session

The Business Direction Session is a paid decision-support service intended to help clarify a commercially realistic direction, identify structural issues, and determine possible next tests.

It is not a promise that:

a recommended direction will succeed;

a particular market will respond;

a business will produce revenue;

you will obtain customers;

or any identified role will remain commercially viable indefinitely.

Any direction discussed should be treated as a business judgment or hypothesis that may require additional research, testing, professional advice, or modification.

Your final decisions and actions remain your responsibility.

Booking Terms

Where a DSR service requires an appointment, available appointment times and transaction-specific booking conditions will be displayed through the applicable booking process.

Any cancellation, rescheduling, lateness, no-show, or refund conditions displayed before purchase or booking are incorporated into these Terms for that transaction.

You are responsible for providing accurate contact information and attending the scheduled session using the instructions provided.

DSR may reasonably reschedule an appointment if operational circumstances require it.

If DSR cancels a paid appointment without providing a reasonable replacement or alternative resolution, the affected transaction will be handled in accordance with the applicable booking terms and law.

Prices and Payment

Prices are displayed in the currency identified on the applicable sales or checkout page.

Unless otherwise stated, applicable taxes, currency-conversion charges, bank charges, or payment-provider fees may be handled according to the transaction, your payment method, and applicable law.

By submitting payment information, you represent that you are authorized to use the selected payment method.

Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers.

Those providers may apply their own terms and privacy practices.

Purchase-Specific Terms

Certain offerings may have additional conditions covering matters such as:

access duration;

refund eligibility;

cancellation;

rescheduling;

installment payments;

membership duration;

usage limitations;

capacity;

delivery dates;

or other transaction-specific matters.

Those terms will be presented through the relevant offer, agreement, booking flow, enrollment page, or checkout where applicable.

If a purchase-specific term directly conflicts with a general provision of these Terms, the more specific transaction term controls for that transaction, except where prohibited by applicable law.

Refunds

Refund eligibility is determined by the terms presented for the specific product or service at the time of purchase and by any mandatory rights available under applicable law.

Do not assume that every DSR product, digital resource, session, program, or membership is refundable.

Before completing payment, review the specific purchase conditions shown on the relevant checkout, sales, or booking page.

Nothing in these Terms limits a refund, cancellation, or consumer right that cannot lawfully be waived.

Digital Products and Immediate Access

Certain offerings may provide immediate or near-immediate access to digital materials, private resources, training, templates, systems, or authenticated content after payment.

Where applicable, purchasing such access gives you a limited personal license to use the materials according to these Terms and the specific offer conditions.

Purchase does not transfer ownership of the underlying intellectual property.

Any statutory cancellation rights that apply to digital content remain subject to applicable law.

Recurring Memberships or Subscriptions

DSR may in the future offer recurring memberships, subscriptions, or payment plans.

If an offering renews automatically, the applicable checkout or enrollment process will identify material recurring-payment terms such as the amount or method for calculating the charge, billing frequency, renewal structure, and available cancellation mechanism as required by applicable law.

You should not assume that a one-time purchase is recurring unless recurring billing is disclosed during the transaction.

Likewise, you should not assume that a recurring membership continues indefinitely if the applicable offer defines a fixed duration.

Where automatic renewal applies, cancellation affects future billing according to the terms presented for that offering and does not automatically create a right to a refund for charges already properly incurred.

Accounts and Private Access

Certain DSR services may require an account.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your login credentials.

Your account is personal to you unless the relevant offering expressly provides organizational or multi-user access.

You may not share, sell, transfer, rent, or publicly distribute private account access without written authorization.

You are responsible for activity occurring through your account when caused by your failure to reasonably protect your credentials.

Please notify DSR if you reasonably believe your account has been compromised.

Private Community and Member Conduct

If DSR provides a private community, Build Lab, discussion environment, or member space, participants are expected to interact professionally and lawfully.

You may not use DSR environments to harass others, impersonate people or businesses, distribute unlawful material, send unauthorized commercial solicitations, interfere with the platform, obtain unauthorized access, or misuse another participant’s private information.

DSR may moderate, restrict, suspend, or terminate participation when reasonably necessary to protect the service, other participants, intellectual property, security, or legitimate business operations.

Confidentiality and Member Information

Participation in a private DSR environment does not give you permission to disclose another participant’s confidential business information or personal information.

Members should exercise judgment before sharing private commercial data.

DSR cannot guarantee that another participant will keep voluntarily shared information confidential unless a separate written confidentiality agreement applies.

Do not treat ordinary community participation as a substitute for a nondisclosure agreement.

User Submissions

You retain ownership of original content you submit to DSR to the extent you own it.

By intentionally submitting content through a DSR service, you grant Travel You Life LLC a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, process, display, reproduce, or transmit that content as reasonably necessary to operate the service, provide the requested functionality, administer the program, or respond to your request.

This operational license does not give DSR unrestricted ownership of your original business materials.

If DSR wishes to use an identifiable customer case, testimonial, or submission for public marketing beyond ordinary service operation, additional permission or another lawful basis may be requested where appropriate.

Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, DSR materials are owned by or licensed to Travel You Life LLC, The Digital Self-Reliance, James Y.H. Shen, or the applicable rights holder.

Protected material may include:

  • written content,
  • frameworks,
  • diagrams,
  • training,
  • videos,
  • audio,
  • templates,
  • private operating materials,
  • course content,
  • internal resources,
  • graphics,
  • branding,
  • software configurations,
  • and other original materials.

Your purchase gives you the usage rights expressly described for that offering.

It does not automatically give you the right to redistribute or commercially resell the material.

Personal Use of Training Materials

Unless an offering expressly grants broader rights, paid training and member resources are licensed for your own use in building or operating your own business.

You may apply what you learn.

You may adapt concepts to your own circumstances.

You may use permitted templates in your own business where that is part of their intended purpose.

You may not simply copy, repackage, resell, publish, distribute, upload, or give away substantial DSR materials as your own course, membership, template library, product, database, or training system.

No Unauthorized Scraping or Dataset Creation

You may not systematically scrape, harvest, reproduce, or extract substantial non-public DSR content for the purpose of:

  • creating a competing product,
  • building a commercial content database,
  • reselling DSR material,
  • reconstructing private member resources,
  • or training or supplying a third-party dataset in violation of your access rights.

This restriction does not prohibit ordinary lawful use of publicly accessible webpages by search engines, browsers, or systems operating consistently with applicable law and technical permissions.

AI Use Does Not Expand Your License

You may use AI tools to assist with your own lawful application of material when permitted by the applicable DSR offering.

However, uploading DSR material into an AI system does not give you additional intellectual-property rights.

You remain responsible for ensuring that your use of third-party AI tools does not unlawfully expose:

  • private DSR materials,
  • other members’ information,
  • confidential business information,
  • or content you do not have authority to disclose.

Prohibited Use

You may not use DSR websites, systems, accounts, or materials to engage in fraud, unlawful activity, unauthorized access, security interference, malicious software distribution, impersonation, infringement, harassment, data theft, deceptive commercial activity, or conduct intended to damage DSR systems or other users.

You may not attempt to bypass paid access controls or technical restrictions designed to separate public and private resources.

Suspension or Termination

DSR may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary because of:

  • material violation of these Terms,
  • nonpayment,
  • fraud,
  • security threats,
  • abuse,
  • unauthorized sharing,
  • infringement,
  • unlawful conduct,
  • or significant disruption to a DSR service.

Where appropriate and practical, an opportunity to correct a violation may be provided.

Immediate restriction may be used when reasonably necessary to protect users, systems, intellectual property, or legal interests.

Termination does not erase obligations that by their nature survive termination, including intellectual-property restrictions, payment obligations already incurred, liability limitations, and dispute provisions.

Third-Party Services

DSR may rely on independent third-party providers for functions such as:

  • website hosting,
  • funnel infrastructure,
  • course or membership delivery,
  • payments,
  • scheduling,
  • email,
  • video conferencing,
  • analytics,
  • cloud services,
  • or other operational tools.

Those services may be subject to separate terms.

DSR cannot guarantee the uninterrupted availability, pricing, features, security, or policies of an independent third-party provider.

External Links

DSR may link to third-party websites, businesses, products, software, platforms, or information.

A link does not automatically mean that DSR controls or guarantees the third party.

You are responsible for evaluating the third party’s current terms, privacy policy, pricing, suitability, and risks before entering a transaction.

Affiliate Relationships

Some DSR pages or communications may contain affiliate or referral relationships.

Where legally required, material relationships will be disclosed.

If you purchase through an eligible affiliate link, Travel You Life LLC or another disclosed related party may receive compensation.

See the Disclosures and Disclaimer for additional information.

No Guaranteed Results

DSR does not guarantee earnings, profits, customers, inquiries, market acceptance, successful business formation, successful implementation, or protection from AI or technological change.

Case studies, experiments, examples, or historical outcomes do not guarantee your result.

You are responsible for the commercial risks associated with decisions you make.

No Employment, Partnership, or Agency

Purchasing a DSR product, participating in training, joining a community, or receiving a Business Direction Session does not make you:

  • an employee of Travel You Life LLC,
  • a business partner of DSR,
  • an agent authorized to bind DSR,
  • a franchisee,
  • or an authorized representative.

Any formal partnership, referral, contractor, licensing, reseller, or agency relationship requires a separate agreement when applicable.

No Promise of Customers, Leads, or Commercial Opportunities

Unless a specific written agreement expressly states otherwise, DSR does not undertake to provide you with:

  • customers,
  • employment,
  • qualified leads,
  • supplier contracts,
  • buyer contracts,
  • exclusive territories,
  • guaranteed introductions,
  • or guaranteed commercial transactions.

DSR training may help you develop systems and capabilities for entering markets.

You remain responsible for performing the work required to pursue opportunities.

Additional Legally Required Disclosures

Certain offerings, jurisdictions, or transaction structures may require disclosures, agreements, notices, cancellation rights, or other documents beyond these general Terms.

Where such requirements apply, DSR or Travel You Life LLC may provide additional documentation before or in connection with the relevant transaction.

Those legally required materials are not replaced by these general Terms.

Privacy

Personal information is handled according to our Privacy Policy.

Information about cookies and similar technologies is available in the Cookie Policy.

Website and Service Availability

DSR may modify, replace, suspend, discontinue, or reorganize website features and services.

We do not guarantee that every public page, private feature, product, integration, or third-party platform will remain available indefinitely.

Where a paid offer includes a defined access period or delivery obligation, that commitment will be governed by the terms associated with the purchase.

Errors and Corrections

DSR may correct errors involving:

  • descriptions,
  • technical information,
  • dates,
  • links,
  • availability,
  • or pricing.

If a material pricing or transaction error affects a purchase, DSR may take reasonable steps to correct the error, which may include contacting the customer and, where appropriate, canceling or refunding the affected transaction consistent with applicable law.

Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DSR websites, public content, and services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis except for express obligations stated in an applicable written transaction.

Travel You Life LLC does not warrant that every DSR service will be uninterrupted, error-free, permanently available, or suitable for every person’s intended business outcome.

Nothing in this section excludes warranties or consumer protections that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Travel You Life LLC and applicable DSR representatives will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or speculative damages arising solely from your reliance on general DSR content or your independent business decisions.

Where liability cannot legally be excluded, any limitation will apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude liability that applicable law does not permit a business to exclude.

Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to be responsible for claims, losses, liabilities, or reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of DSR services, your material breach of these Terms, your infringement of another party’s rights, or commercial activity you independently conduct using DSR concepts or materials.

This provision does not require you to indemnify DSR for liability that applicable law places on DSR itself.

Governing Law

These Terms and transactions with Travel You Life LLC are generally governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer or other applicable law provides otherwise.

Nothing in this section deprives an eligible consumer of mandatory legal protections that cannot validly be waived by contract.

Disputes

If a dispute arises, the parties are encouraged to first attempt a good-faith informal resolution by contacting each other and providing reasonable information about the issue.

If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, applicable claims may be brought in a court with lawful jurisdiction.

To the extent legally permitted and where no mandatory consumer venue rule applies, the parties agree that disputes arising directly from these Terms or a transaction with Travel You Life LLC may be heard in an appropriate state or federal court serving Wyoming.

These Terms do not currently impose mandatory arbitration.

Business Direction Session — Booking, Rescheduling, and Refund Policy

Fees for the DSR Business Direction Session are charged in exchange for reserving a specific appointment, session preparation, and the provision of a private professional working session.

Unless otherwise required by applicable law, all purchases and confirmed bookings are final and non-refundable.

A client is responsible for reviewing the selected appointment date, time, and displayed time zone before completing payment. Refunds will not be provided for booking errors, scheduling conflicts, changes of mind, missed appointments, late arrival, failure to complete the intake form, or technical problems originating from the client’s equipment, connection, or environment.

One rescheduling request may be permitted when submitted at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment, subject to availability. Rescheduling does not create a right to a refund.

If The Digital Self-Reliance or Travel You Life LLC is unable to provide the booked session, the client may elect either a replacement appointment or a full refund.

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer-protection law.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms when:

  • DSR services change,
  • new products or delivery models are introduced,
  • technology changes,
  • laws or regulations change,
  • or operational requirements change.

The Last Updated date will indicate the current published version.

Changes do not retroactively eliminate transaction-specific rights that already vested under an earlier agreement where doing so would be prohibited.

Severability

If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent legally possible.

The affected provision should be interpreted or limited only as much as reasonably necessary to make it enforceable where permitted.

No Waiver

Failure to enforce a provision of these Terms on one occasion does not automatically waive the right to enforce that provision later.

Entire Agreement

For general website use, these Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Disclosures and Disclaimer, form the applicable public website terms.

For a paid transaction, those documents operate together with the specific sales page, checkout terms, booking terms, order details, and any separate written agreement applicable to the purchase.
